Iris Lavora Rowell was born to William J. Rowell and Letha Lavora Bullock, September 26, 1904 in Castor, Bienville Parish, Louisiana. She died May 3, 1974 in Heflin, Webster Parish, Louisiana.

Iris, married Paul Lee Brunson from Webster Parish, Louisiana, April 24, 1921 in Castor, Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

Born to this union was, Lloyd Phillip, Franklin Lorraine, Billy Lee, William Glen, Betty Ione, Samuel Ross and Iris Pauline.

Obituary: Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday for Mrs. Iris Lavora Brunson, 69,who passed away Saturday morning in the Physicians and Surgeons Hospital in Shreveport.

The Rev. Dewey Lecros officiated at the service which was held at the Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Fryeburg. Interment followed in the Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin.

A resident of Fryeburg, Mrs. Brunson was affiliated with the Rebecca Order and was a member of the Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Lee Brunson, Fryeburg; two daughters, Mrs. Betty I. White, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Mrs. Iris Williams, also of Indianapolis, five sons, Lloyd P. Brunson, Heflin; F.L. Brunson, Minden; Billy L. Brunson, Carson City, Nevada; William G. Brunson, Monroe, and Samuel R. Brunson, Freemont, California; one sister, Mrs. Elroy Plunkett, Bienville, one brother, Huey Rowell, Goldonna; 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lewis Brunson, Lawrence Brunson, Walter L. Brunson, Ronald Plunkett, Sonney Plunkett, Billy D. Rowell, and Hugh E. Hay.
