Jake Eugene Morgan passed away Saturday, June 29, 2002. He was 88. He was born September 20, 1913, in Carterville, Missouri to Jacob Alonzo and Minnie Irene Morgan. He married Laura Rosalee Watson on September 2, 1941.

Gene and Rosalee moved to Blythe in 1956 to work for Arden Diary, later working for Bryce Farms and Rolo's. He was an active member of Rotary and active in the community. He worked as a volunteer for the Blood Bank for 21 years and he enjoyed giving hot pads he crocheted to the many donors. He was also a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many church positions. He was a WWII veteran and served his country honorably.

He is survived by his wife Rosalee of 60 years, 8 children: Randall Morgan of Springerville, Utah, Marilyn Reid from Yuba City, California, Dana Morgan of Tucson, Arizona, Laura Johnson of Blythe, Karen McKown of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Roger Morgan of Spanish Fork, Utah, Brenda Gaskin of South Jordan, Utah, and Cynthia Absher of Duncansville, Pennsylvania, a sister, Georgia Blackwell of Draper, Utah, 45 grandchildren and 50 Great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday July 3, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint chapel at 700 North Broadway. Interment was at the Palo Verde Cemetery.
