ANOTHER VICTIM OF SUICIDE
AUBURN, July 9 - Nelse HAILBONE, living near Auburn, committed suicide Monday morning by shooting himself in the head with a pistol. Deceased was a prominent fruit grower. A widow and son survive him. No reason is given for the act, except that he may have been despondent on account of a short fruit crop. Deceased was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men, and the funeral will be conducted by that order.
He married Clara H. in 1880, according to the 1900 U.S. Census they had two children, but the only one living was Arthur Olaf Hallbom.
Update - April 8th 2013 - found the missing child from the Placer Herald. Died in 1879
