Steve Allen Carter, 57, of Dallas, Texas, died Thursday, May 15, 2008.

He was born in Bauxite to Frank and Grace Carter. Steve served a longtime career in law enforcement and was also an accomplished photographer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Betty Carter Brown, William Douglas Carter and Larry Michael Carter.

Survivors include his only child, Roger Carter of Texas; a brother, Coy Carter and wife Kay of Bryant; and three sisters, Gladys Poe and Frankie Zatoom of Little Rock and Joy Thompson and husband Bob of Haskell; and Steve had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service in honor of Steve and his older brother, Larry, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olive Cemetery in Bauxite.

Arrangements are by Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.

Family comments: He will be missed by all and was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
