Randy "Coach" Robbins - Age 45. A native and resident of Mobile went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 5, 2009. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, all sports and he loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lynn Robbins; two sons, Randy Robbins, Jr., Jacob Robbins of Mobile; parents, Bobby and Leona Robbins of Mobile; grandmother, Inez Reid of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Andy (Theresa) Robbins of Mobile, Daryl (Kim) Robbins of Semmes; nieces, Brandi Robbins, Whitney Robbins, Tiffany Robbins, Allison Robbins all of Mobile; three sister-in-laws, JoAnn (Johnny) Albritton, Marie (Phil) Craft, Peggy (Jr.) Everett all of Mobile; a host of many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 5PM to 8PM at Day Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Day Springs Baptist Church on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 11AM with one hour visitation before the service. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Daysprings Baptist Church: Homeless Ministries 2200 Cody Rd. South, Mobile, AL, 36695. ARRANGEMENTS BY ASCENSION FUNERAL SERVICE, on Hillcrest Rd.

Former Mobile Christian baseball coach Randy Robbins died Monday.

Robbins, 45, served as the school's varsity baseball coach from 2004-05. His 2004 squad finished as the AISA Class AAA

runner-up, and he was named the AISA Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. He also coached middle school and junior varsity baseball at the school.

"It's affected our campus very much," said Joey Adams, the dean of students and basketball coach at Mobile Christian. "We still have quite a few students who played for Coach Robbins, whether it was middle school, junior varsity or varsity, and his son graduated just last year. He was very connected to our school. It's a very sad time for our school."

Robbins, nicknamed "Coach," was a native and resident of Mobile.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Lynn Robbins; two sons, Randy Robbins Jr. and Jacob Robbins; and his parents, Bobby and Leona Robbins, all of Mobile; two brothers, Andy Robbins of Mobile and Daryl Robbins of Semmes; and his grandmother, Inez Reid of Tuscaloosa.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Dayspring Baptist Church, where another visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Ascension Funeral Service on Hillcrest Road.
