Agnes Burrows was born in 1822 in Linlithgow, County West Lothian, Scotland, one of ten children to bless the marriage of Andrew Davie and Margaret Duncan.

She married Mr. Warren H. Burrows circa 1838 in Deposit, Delaware Co, NY, the son of Peris Burrows and Deborah Marie Wightman.

Warren and Agnes were blessed with three children: Andrew in 1840, Avery in 1842 and Augusta in 1844.

Agnes' life changed drastically in 1853 when on the 28th day of June, her husband Warren died at the age of thirty-seven and then on the 11th of September her first born child Andrew died at the age of twelve. Agnes never remarried, remained a widow until her death in 1899.

Ten years later her only remaining son Avery, and the sole means of her support, died on 15 May 1863. Avery had been serving his country in the Civil War as a Private in Co C, 27th NYS Vol Infantry and was discharged 30 Oct 1861 at White Oaks (Church), Fairfax Co, VA due to disability and received an invalid pension upon his return home. He died from from the said disability.

Agnes was granted a Mother's Pension in 1865.

Agnes died on 19 Jun 1899 in Deposit, Delaware Co, NY at the age of seventy-seven.
