Salina and Francis had one daughter Nettie who died on 05 Dec 1861.
On 15 Aug 1862 Francis enlisted in the Civil War, being mustered in as a Private in Co A,144th NY Regiment. On 30 Sep 1863 he transferred to Co B, 9th Penn Veteran's Regiment and then to Co B, 38 Penn Vol Infantry. He died on 18 May 1864 Alexandria, Alexandria Co, VA.
After the war, Salina married James Augustus Moser, a veteran and the son of William O. and Mary A. Moser.
James and Salina had no children.
Salina died on 22 Jun 1871 in Stilesville, Delaware Co, NY, aged 41 Years 5 Months 0 Days.
