She had lived in Bono since 2006, moving there from Ozark Acres near Hardy. Prior to living in Hardy, she lived in Jonesboro from 1937 until 1979. She was of the Baptist belief and attended the Spring Lake Baptist Church at Ozark Acres.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Cleamon Ellis Barkley; parents, CC and Harriett Pierson; one grandchild; three brothers, Homer, Ray and Harley Pierson.
Thelma is survived by sons, Jerry Barkley and wife Nancy; Steve Barkley and wife Rita, all of Jonesboro; Bill Barkley and wife Elizabeth, Paragould; daughters, Linda Morris and Greg Puckett, Bono; Rebecca Shackelford and husband David, Highland, Arkansas; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Graveside services were at lower Cane Island Cemetery near Lake City.
Pallbearers are Sammy Barkley, Michael Barkley, Mark Pierson, Jimmy Weaver, Tommy Pierson, and Doug Barkley; grandchildren will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
