Funeral for Zebedee McFarlen, 79, of Danville was Friday, September 5, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Nix and Wayne Cobb officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. McFarlen died Wednesday, September 3, 1997, at his residence. He was a native of Jackson County and a member of Neel Church of Christ. He was a landscape and plant nursery worker before retiring. He then was a wood worker and a chair caner.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Polly) McFarlen of Danville; one son, Marvin Leon McFarlen of Lexington, Ky.; five daughters, Faye Sparkman, Lorene Jones and Margaret Atchley, all of Hartselle, Joann Shoemaker of Decatur and Francis Maze of Arab; one stepson, Clayton Blackwood of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Shelby Glenn and Joan Walker, both of Danville; one brother, Herman McFarlen of Huntsville; three sisters, Lucille Andrews of Joppa, Wilma Hodges of New Market and Mary McFarlen of Hazel Green; 13 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and five-step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Larry Sparkman, Maurice Sparkman, Stanley Sparkman, Jeff Jones, Tim Moody and Michael Atchley.
