Dorothy L. Dunnagan, 83, passed away at 2:52 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis.
She was born December 20, 1925, in Lyon County, Kentucky, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Elliott) Forsythe.
She married Julian "Haze" Dunnagan on September 6, 1942, at Old Monroe, Missouri. He preceded her in death August 13, 1994.
She was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church and attended Meadowbrook Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, going to church, and working at the Hope Center.
She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Danny and Shirley Dunnagan of Bunker Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Harvey Walker of Grand Rivers, Kentucky, and Terri and J.R. Gunn of Bethalto; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Duff; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Kathy Burger, Julian Wayne, and Dottie Elaine Dunnagan; and four sisters and two brothers, Susie Forsythe, Alene Bloodworth, Robert Forsythe, Woodrow Forsythe, Rossie Trimm, Lois Forsythe, and Cecil Forsythe.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 7.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Assembly of God Church Building Fund or the family.
