He was married to Thelma Herman.
They had one daughter, Margaret Selix.

WALTER SELIX
Walter R. Selix, 86, of 602 E. Mary died at 11:05 a.m. April 12, 1985, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center (formerly Ottumwa Hospital).
He was born Jan 10, 1899, at Bunch to Thomas and Retta Stufflebeam Selix. A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he was a general building contractor for more than 50 years. He was a charter and active member of the First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church. The church fellowship hall was named Selix Hall in his honor. He was also a member of local Carpenter's Union No. 767.
He married Thelma Herman Dec. 22, 1919 at Centerville. She died Oct 16, 1975.
He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Lyman of Ottumwa; two granddaughters, Connie Spilman of Carrolltown, Texas, and Pam Lyman of Ottumwa; and two great-grandchildren.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Penecostal Assembly of God, the Revs Charles Hamby and Clinton Spilman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at Reece Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
A memorial has been established to his church.
