Canajoharie, Jan. 4.—Mary Cath-
erlne Lewis, wife of Michael Lewis,
died Tuesday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Charles Smith, in
the town of Danube, Herkimer
county, where she has been spending
the winter. Death was due to
dropsy. Mrs. Lewis was born in the
town of Canajoharie July 2, 1845 ,
and spent all of her life in this
vicinity, living near Buel. She is
survived by her husband, two
daughters., Mrs. Charles Smith of
the town of Danube, Mrs. Charles
Coons of South Schenectady and
five sons. William E. of Indian Castle,
Howard of Glen Falls, Charles
and Kellar of Fort Plaln and Floyd
of the town of Sharon. The funeral
will be held Thursday at 1 o'clock
at the home, the Rev. W. M. Baum,
Jr., pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran
church officiating. Interment in the
Fort Plain Cemetery.
