Junior Leroy Epping, 61, Sandhills native and longtime North Platte resident, died Dec. 21, 1991, at his home in North Platte.
He was born July 20, 1930, at Arthur to Fred and Frances Rowly Epping and grew up in Ogallala where he attended school. He married Mari Bowman.
In 1969 he moved from Cozad to North Platte and worked as a fireman/oiler for Union Pacific Railroad.
He married Barbara Hawkins on May 8, 1982, in Brady.
Mr. Epping was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Elks.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of North Platte; two sons, Mike and wife Joan of Hershey and Darren at home; three daughters, Kris (Mrs. Sherman) Forden and Kim ( Mrs. Randy) Hongsermeier both of Sutherland and Connie (Mrs. Curt) Cook of North Platte; a brother, Ray of Lincoln; a sister, Grace Hood of Cozad; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Adams and swanson Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Hannappel of Holy Spirit Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
