Mrs. Ora Metcalf died at 6 o'clock Sunday morning, December 7. 1947, at the local hospital of injuries sustained at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon on the Huntsville Highway.

According to Chief of Police Ottis Dye, who investigated, the accident occurred in the Fulton Addition when a car driven by Goodloe Ward of Flintville attempted a left turn and crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by Shirley Metcalf, Mrs. Metcalf's husband. The Metcalf car overturned and Mrs. Metcalf was pinned under the car.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lincoln Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. W. A. Hayes. Burial was in the church cemetery. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children and three brothers, Willie Chissam of Cornersville, Thomas Chissam of Portland, and Lewis Chissam of Nasvhille.
