Rae Lavernia Barron King, a former employee of Clay Tile Co., a former secretary at Hebron Baptist Church for 12 years and a resident of Denham Springs since 1947, died at 12:57 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2002, at her home. She was 82, born Nov. 6, 1919, in Gorman.

Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs. Visiting resumes at Hebron Baptist Church, Denham Springs, until religious services, conducted by the Rev. Rob Burns and the Rev. Ken Renfroe. Interment in church cemetery.

Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley R. and Glenda M. King, Denham Springs; two granddaughters and husbands, Tracey D. and Destry McFearin, Denham Springs, and Tiffany and Scott Doss, Beaumont, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Bailey Doss and Courtlyn McFearin; three sisters, Mrs. James F. ( Zula ) Pope, Amite, Mrs. Leroy (Reta) Pence, Baton Rouge, and Dr. Margie Reid, Hohenwald, Tenn.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley King; father and mother, Sam and Ethel Jenkins Barron; and three brothers, Samuel, Winston and Emerson Barron.

She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and a charter member of Denham Springs Chapter of AARP.
