Richard "Ricky" Allen Black, Jr., 64, of High Island passed away at the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital in Brady, Texas.

Ricky was an avid outdoor adventurer/sportsman and thoroughly enjoyed everything about living life near the beaches of the Bolivar Peninsula. He shared his love and passion for hunting and fishing with his family and most recently his grandchildren who fondly refer to him as Pappy. He was quite the chef extraordinaire and shared this talent with his family and friends. Ricky had a unique sense of humor and could always get a laugh from the crowd with his famous heel click.

Ricky was survived by his mother, Thelma Black; sons, Richard Black, Jason Black and his wife Christy; daughter, Robbin Black Howard and her husband Geoffrey; sister, Terry Bonno and her husband Louis, Sharon Blankenship; grandchildren, Ryan Black, Madeline Black, Luke Black, Kaitlyn Black, Brett Black, Parker Howard, Keaton Howard, nephews, Steven Bonno, David Bonno, Jake Blankenship, Jake Weaver, Zach Weaver, numerous relatives and friends and his beloved cousin, friend and partner in crime, Sidney Pulliam.

Funeral services will be at the St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 1308 Weeks Avenue, High Island with burial in High Island Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie.
