William "Bill" Peterson, 82, Brainerd, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Brainerd to Charles L. and Olive (Whittaker) Peterson. He married Lorraine Vierzba on April 24, 1939, in Brainerd. He worked in the Northern Pacific Railroad shops in Brainerd for 20 years. He then worked at Brainerd City Hall for 24 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church of Brainerd.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Nancy Schwarz, St. Paul, Linda Opatz, Hudson, Wis., and Janice Ullery, Apple Valley; three sons, Brian Peterson, Pflugerville, Texas, David Peterson, Detroit Lakes, and Gregory Peterson, Rosemount; and 15 grandchildren.
A sister and a brother died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church of Brainerd with Father Richard Kunst officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery of Brainerd.
Friends may call at Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter from 4-7 p.m. today with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
