Lloyd S. Pugh, 65, of 1834 East Walnut, died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in Springfield Baptist Hospital where he had been a patient only 10 hours. He had been ill since Jan. 2, however.
A veteran of World War I, he had operated a farm at Springdale, Ark., but recently he had retired, coming to Springfield about eight months ago.
He leaves his wife, Nellie J., of the home; a son, Woodrow L. of Chicago; three daughters, Miss Julia of the home, Mrs. Esther Van Ever of Chicago and Mrs. Marian Emanuelson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Pugh of Chicago; a brother, five sisters, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Christian church at Brumley, at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with Mrs. Luke A. Weeks officiating. Burial will be in Hawkins cemetery, near Brumley under direction of Alma Lohmeyer-Jewell E. Windle.
