Benny was a native of Asheboro and was co-owner of Kivett & Son, Inc. He was a member of the North Carolina Septic Tank Association and a member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro. He attended Salem Fellowship Church in Denton. Benny was a former Junior Volunteer Fireman with the Eastside Fire Department and was formerly employed with the Asheboro Fire Department for 10 years. His many loves included his family, hunting, and being outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Moffitt Kivett. He is survived by his wife, Donna Sheffield Kivett; daughter, Michelle Chriscoe and her husband David of Denton, NC; daughter, Kim Evans And Brad Waugh of Franklinville, NC; son, Michael Evans And Kathy Branch of Candler, NC; granddaughter, Courtney Ann Chriscoe of Denton, NC; father and step mother, Odell And Patty Kivett of Asheboro, NC; sister, Vickie Durham and her husband Mike of Asheboro, NC; grandmother, Alice Kivett of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 7, 2007 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro and other times at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Salem Fellowship Church, 4367 Salem Church Rd., Denton with Rev. Steven Nance and Rev. C.B. Barr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
