The Sabine Index - J. A. Dew 6 Sep 1935 - J. A. Dew, age 77 years, expired at the home of hisdaughter, Mrs. J. M. Cooper, last Sunday at 2:30 p.m., after havingspent the most of his life in Sabine parish, coming with his parentsfrom Mississippi at the age of five years. Mr. Dew was a charter member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church wasactively connected with the betterment of his community and parish. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion church Monday at 2:30p.m. with Revs. D. L. Goodman, J. B. Herrington and T. J. Litesofficiating, interment in the Mt. Zion cemetery. Surviving Mt. Deww are three sons and five daughters: E. D. Dew,Willie and Rufus; Mrs. W. M. Cooper, Mrs. W. H. Brumley, Mrs. J. M.Cooper, Mrs. Ezra Dees, Mrs. Jessie Miller, also 71 grand and greatgrandchildren.
