BONER
Mr. J. C. Boner, eighty-one years old, died at his late home on the Lexington pike, Friday afternoon at five o'clock. He had been in declining health for several months and his life had been despaired of several days, he was a native of Fayette County, but for many years had lived in Garrard, having some years ago removed to Boyle. He was an influential republican. Mr. Boner was twice married, his first wife being Miss Mary J. Kemper, of Garrard County. To this union four children were born, three of whom are now living. They are W. H. Boner, of Asheville, Mo., John Q. Boner, of Carrollton, Mo., and Edgar Boner, of Kingston, Mo. He married Miss Georgia Raines, of Boyle county, in 1906, and she survives him, together with the following: Mrs. John Chesnut, of Danville: Mrs. R. H. Humphreys, of Bowling Green; Mr. Joe Boner, of Kansas City; Alfred Boner, of Somerset; Speed Boner and Oliver Boner of Kansas City; and George Boner, of Nicholasville. De- ceased was a member of the Knights of Honor, and was prominent in the workings of the lodge up until his age forbade. He removed to Boyle county about three years ago and purchased a small farm about three miles from the City on which to spend his reclining days. Several months ago Mr. Boner was thrown from a buggy, from which he never fully recovered. It is thought that on account of his advanced age the shock hastened his death. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev W.L. Dorgan yesterday morning at 11 o'clock, followed by interment in Bellevue cemetery.

The following obituary was published in the February 16, 1906 edition of The Central Record newspaper, (Lancaster, Garrard Co., Ky):
Many Garrard acquaintances regret to learn of the death of John Boner, which occurred at his home in Danville Friday. He had been ill for some time. Mr. Boner was at one time assessor for Garrard county and prominently identified with the Republican Party. His first wife was Miss Mary J. Kemper, of this county, four children blessing the union. His second wife was Miss Georgia Raines, of Boyle, and to them were born seven children. "Uncle John" was an honorable, kind hearted man and a true friend. He was a very popular man, and a citizen. He was buried in the Danville Cemetery Sunday
