VALLEY FALLS --- Rose Mae Boyce, 94, Valley Falls, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at a Holton nursing home.

She was born Nov. 19, 1905, in Van Buren, Mo., to John and Lula Abbott Adkins, and lived in Valley Falls for many years.

She was a member of the Christian Church, Senior Citizens, Young Women's Christian Association, Better Homes Home Demonstration Unit, U&I Club and Prairie Hall Club, all in Valley Falls.

She married Harry Boyce on Nov. 14, 1923, in Topeka. They operated Boyce Grocery in Valley Falls from 1950 to 1956. He died Oct. 23, 1981.

Survivors include a son, Wilbur Boyce, Valley Falls; a daughter, Juanita Lawson, Emporia; two sisters, Margaret Taylor, Holton, and Grace Gregory, Clearfield, Utah; five grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Christian Church in Valley Falls.

Burial will be in Valley Falls Cemetery.

Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Ambulance Service, District No. 11, Valley Falls, 66088.
