William H. Cantrell, one of the oldest and most widely known residents of the New Prospect section, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. A. Powell. Mr. Cantrell celebrated his 86th birthday last Thursday. He died Saturday afternoon about 3:30 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Monday at noon at the New Prospect Baptist Church. The Revs., G. G. O'Neil and J. P. W. Hill will officiate. Mr. Cantrell is survived by two children, Mrs. Powell and Mrs. W. C. Foote, a brother, J. A. Cantrell, a sister, Mrs. P. J. McCaulley, 11 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
