Mrs. Verna Susan Mudd, 72, wife of Clarence E. Mudd, 1734 East Steward Road, died about 7:20 p.m. Monday in Midland Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday.
The former Verna Sweebe, was born Feb. 3 1894 in Wood County, Ohio. She came to Midland from Ohio with her parent in 1910. She was married to Mr. Mudd May 4, 1913 at Crane Methodist Church and the couple had since resided in Midland county.
Mrs. Mudd attended the Evangelical Mennonite Church and she was a member of the Crane Extension Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons Melvin E. and Lloyd R. Mudd both of Midland Township, and Herman E. (Pete) Mudd, Warren Township; two daughters, Mrs. George Green and Mrs. Charles Longsdorf, both of Homer Township, 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Elmer Sweebe of Sanford; E. R. (Dick) Sweebe and Homer Sweebe, both of Midland; three sisters, Mrs. Eugene Ridey and Mrs. Lawrence Irelan, both of Midland Township, and Mrs. Elwood Smith, Homer Township.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Scott Wilson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles L. Rupp officiating. Burial will be in Midland Memorial Gardens cemetery.
