Father of 15 Buried Yesterday

Funeral services for Coy Lee Haddock, 53, Moko, Ark., father of 15 children, were held yesterday afternoon at the Rock Creek Pentecost Church near Marshall, Ark.

Mr. Haddock died at 8:30 a.m. Friday at his home.

He was born June 13, 1910 in Dallas, Tex., to John and Rosie Middleton Haddock of Lake City, Ark.

On Jan. 2, 1935, he married Flossie Wallace at Landis, Ark. She preceded him in death in 1943.

On Oct. 28, 1944, he married Josephine R. Hattenhauer at Landis, Ark., who survives as do his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Haddock of Lake City, Ark., and 15 children, Gene Haddock of Big Flat, Ark., Charles Roy Haddock of Bakersfield, Calif., Jimmy Lee Haddock of Cash, Ark., Mrs. JoEllen Stevens, and Mrs. Florence Mosby, Lake City, Ark., Mrs. Alice Stevens of Cash, Ark., Donald Howard, Roy Dale, David, Tommy, Coy Jr., Rudy, Carl, Carolyn Sue Judy Ann Haddock, all of the home; and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Treet and Mrs. Lois Mabery, Lake City, Ark.

Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.

The above obituary states: "as do his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Haddock of Lake City, Ark.". This information is incorrect.
Coy's father, John Wesley, died between 1910 Census date and 1920 Census date. His mother, Ida Rosa "Rosie" Middleton Haddock Elliott Macemore Mize Holliman was married to Joseph "Cater" Mize at the time of her son's death. They lived in Lake City, Arkansas.

Troy is buried in Rock Creek Cemetery, Harriet, Searcy County, Arkansas. This has not been confirmed. Mr. Paul Ray Brown, Sexton in 2016, states there are no Cemetery Records. Therefore, cannot get names or plot numbers. There is no way to determine who is or where a person is buried if not marked. The old cemetery section is just about full. New section is 3/4 way full. Half sister, Alice, states she went with her father, Coy Lee to put a rock on Troy's grave as a marker. Coy Lee had chiseled Troy's name, birth and death dates on it. I have not been able to locate such rock. Troy's grave is to the right after entering the gate. It is by the fence within the length of the building of the old church building.
