Mr Matthew Hume, who has been conductor of the Arrow Brass Band for the past two years, has resigned from that position, having been appointed conductor of the Middlemarch Brass Band. Mr Hume has proved himself a very capable conductor, the Arrow Band having made good headway under his tuition. His departure is regretted; but Attowtown's loss will be Middlemarch's gain.

Mr Matthew Hume, who has recently been appointed conductor of the Dargaville Town Band, was formerly conductor of the Warkworth Band and more recently of the Woodville Band. He went home to Scotland during the ware, enlisted in a Scotch regiment and served throughout the war.

I, Helen Strang Hume of Woodville take oath and say that I knew Matthew Hume of Woodville, now deceased and that the said deceased was my lawful husband and that the said deceased left me this deponent and one child, that is name Thomas Warnock Hume aged twenty months.
* That since the death of the said deceased I have had access to his papers and repositories and that I have searched diligently therein for any will or testamentary writing made or signed by the said deceased and that I have been unable to find any such will or testamentary writing. The I have made enquiry of all persons likely to know if the said deceased has made or signed any will and I have been unable to learn that the said deceased ever made or signed any such will or testamentary writing.
* That the said deceased was born in Scotland and was a British subject
* That I, this deponent, was born in Scotland and am both by birth and by marriage a British subject.
