LaDare Whitson was born Dec. 3, 1939 in Salem, Mo., to the late James Elbert "Pop" and Hallie Mae (Peck) Whitson and passed away December 22, 2008 in Rolla, Mo., at the age of 69. LaDare was united in marriage to Terry (Whaley) Whitson, Aug. 1, 1987. He was a member of Camp Creek Full Gospel Church. LaDare worked hard as a mechanic and wrecker driver. He enjoyed hunting, refinishing furniture, watching the Cardinals, and most of all spending time with family and friends. LaDare was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Terry Whitson of Rolla; children Stephen Whitson & wife Tricia of Rolla, Elisha L. Thompson & husband Clay of Rolla, Angie Whitson & husband Troy Wagoner of Newburg, Kenny Sidwell & wife Tammy of Dover, Fl, Johnnie Sidwell of Rolla, and Larry Sidwell of Dover, Fl.; sisters Jan Parsons & husband Mike of Rolla, and Jarena Whitson of Rolla; fifteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. LaDare is preceded in death by his daughter Anita Kaye Burch, in addition to his parents. Visitation for LaDare Whitson will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Dec.27, 2008 at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, with Pastor Wilbur Ness officiating. Interment will be at Ozark Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Mo. Memorials are suggested to Camp Creek Full Gospel Church, or the American Lung Association. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations. All arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary of Rolla, Mo.
