May Marie Clark Lombard, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 while living in Montgomery, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd., Montgomery, AL with Rev. Jim Ingram, Rev. James Greene, Rev. Hollis Powell, Rev. Tom Jacobs, Rev. Greg Kelley, and Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Leak-Memory Chapel. May Lombard was preceded in death by her father, David Martin Clark; mother, Emma Katherine Schroth Clark; three brothers, Daniel Clark, Ray C. Clark, Everett Clark; and sister, Harriet Vivian Clark, all of Colorado. She was born in Denver, Colorado on May 8, 1927 and spent her childhood in Alma, Colorado. She attended high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Waxahachie, Texas. She was the valedictorian of her high school graduating class at Southwestern High School in Waxahachie, Texas. She met and married Wilton I. Lombard, Sr. in Waxahachie, Texas on December 17, 1948 where he was attending Southwestern Bible College. They lived most of the time in Mobile, Alabama where they reared four children. She was a kind, loving, compassionate pastor's wife, accomplished church pianist, and Sunday School teacher. Those who knew her best said, "You saw Jesus in Mrs. May." In later years, she worked at the Corps of Engineers in the mail room where she was able to retire with 15 years of service. She received numerous awards for her faithful service and also served as union steward. She retired with her husband to Woodland Park, Colorado for a while with Pikes Peak in view from their home. She and her husband later spent several years in Baldwin County, Alabama. In March 2006, due to her sickness, she and her husband moved to Montgomery, Alabama to live near her daughter. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Wilton I. Lombard, Sr.; two sons, O. Robert Lombard and Wilton I. Lombard, Jr. (Kathi Sue); two daughters, Shirley Joyce Ingram (Jimmy Lee), Darlene Marie Baker (Kevin Ray); and ten grandchildren. May Marie Clark Lombard faithfully served her Lord and is now in Heaven with Him and her many relatives and friends who have gone on before her. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.
