Miss McConnell was a native of Marshall County and daughter of the late Henry Knox and Mary Lou Church McConnell. She retired from teaching after thirty-eight years. She was certified in english, history, sociology and all elementary education in the State of Tennessee teaching in the schools at Anes Station, Mooresville, Hardison, and Marshall Elementary. She was a member of the Mooresville Church of Christ and was also, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Billy Mac Sanders, Betty Sanders, Mary Ann Parker, Andy Porter, Bobby Porter and several great and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise Porter, Maple Sanders, Iliff McConnell, Oliff McConnell, and William Knox McConnell, and niece, Mary Knox Hammonds.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wilson Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at London Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for visitation.
In lieu of flowers make donations to the Mooresville Church of Christ.
