Funeral services for D. W. "Weldon" Killingsworth Sr, 85, of Weaver, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Pangle and Pastor Marcus Alexander officiating.
Burial followed at the Laurel Oaks Cemetery in Mesquite at 3 p.m. with Justin Burkett, Michael Hathcock, Todd Hathcock, Shane Killingsworth, Weldon Tully and Keith Remonte serving as Pallbearers. Ronnie Parris, Brian Beadle, Dutch Valister, Tommy Winstead, Jeff Wilson, Gary Ross and Nim Cash will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday evening, May 18, at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mr. Killingsworth died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at his residence in Weaver, Texas.
D. W. "Weldon" Killingsworth was born in Princeton, Texas Dec. 14, 1923, the Son of Elias Newton Killingsworth and Myrtle Hall Killingsworth.
He married Edna Earle Witherspoon December 24, 1943, in Dallas, Texas. She survives.
Mr. Killingsworth was a retired supervisor for the Dallas Police Department Garage. He was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include one son, Billy Killingsworth and wife Sandra of Dallas; three daughters, Pat Finholt of Denton, Susie Davis and husband Leonard of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Darlene Parsons and husband Jay of Springtown; grandchildren, Shane Killingsworth and wife Jennifer, Keith Remonte and wife Valerie, Denicia Remonte, Tammy Schmeltz and husband Michael, Weldon Tully, Michelle Spear and husband Richard, Tonya Biggs and husband Don, Stacy Hunter and husband Robert, Lawanda Simmons and husband Mike, Darrell Killingsworth Jr., Michael Hathcock and Todd Hathcock; great-grandchildren; Tyler Killingsworth, Dana Hooten, Nichole Hooten, Bryanna Remonte, Alicia Insinna, Chad Finholt, Brandon Bartlett, Andrew Schmetz, Amanda Schmetz, Trevor Spear, Joslyn Spear, Chaeli Spear, Justin Burkett, Tiffney Goldsmith, Courtney Goldsmith, Kylie Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Dillon Hamilton, Paige Leftwich, Tristyn Simmons, Ryan Killingsworth, Jake Hathcock, Kristen Littlejohn, Kindle Killingsworth and Christian Killingsworth; and great great-grandchildren, Maycie Bartlett, Maddox Bartlett and Hunter Burkett.
