A daughter of the late John Hill and Ora Austin Hill and the wife of the late Freeman Madden. She was a member of Flat Ruff Baptist Church and later united under Christian experience at New Liberty Baptist Church, where she sang with the New Liberty Adult Choir. She was a life member Newbery Women's Aid Society Lodge #60.
She is survived by two sons, Alfred Freeman (Marva) Madden, Jr., of Palmdale, CA, and Willie Edward Madden, Sr. of Simpsonville; two brothers, John Belton (Sarah) Hill of Greensboro, NC, and James DeRoy Hill of Fountain Inn; one sister, Grace Parks of Greenville; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
