Obituary

Ruth Armstrong Bigger, 91, Ringgold, GA died Thursday, October 1, 2009, in a local health care facility. She graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1938. Mrs. Bigger was a member of Hope Fellowship. She was member and past president of the Chattanooga Pilot Club, member and Past High Priestess of the Asebi No. 36 LOSNA and a life member of the Pocahontas Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Bigger was secretary and treasurer of the Tennessee State Numasmatic Society for 25 years and was a life member of Blue Ridge Numasmatic Association. She was retired from Chattanooga Internal Medicine Group and was preceded in death by Thomas M. Armstrong and E. Lauren Bigger.


Survivors are children, Fred Wunderlich, Ringgold, GA, Mary Ava Barden, Bloomsfield, CO; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Thomas and Rev. Bridget Waddell officiating.


Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.


Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Suite 102, Chattanooga, TN 37421.


The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory.
