John Gelder Shearburn, of Auburn, died at 7:48 p.m., Monday, Aug. 25, at Memorial hospital, Springfield. He had been under a physician's care for a heart ailment.
Deceased was born at Waverly June 11, 1912, a son of the late John and Jessie Jones Shearburn.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; six children, Mrs. Betty Hilbert, Mrs. Doris Baker, both of Thayer; Donald, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Glen, Vera and Linda, all at home; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Moore of Auburn and Mrs. Katherine Driver of Chatham.
His father, John G. Shearburn, Sr., preceded him in death April 29th, this year.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock at the Willis Funeral Home in Auburn, with Mr. Paul Moske, and Mr. Richard Moske, Jehovah Witnesses, officiating.
Burial was in East Cemetery, at Waverly.
