Isabella was the daughter of John Bourland and Catherine (Randolph) Bourland of Northern Ireland who supposedly immigrated to Virginia about 1761. (Yes, the same year she was born but maybe the year before.)

John Bourland & Catherine (Randolph) Bourland had children across three states while they settled in America in the years leading up to and in to the American Revolution, which naturally caused movement and opportunities -- *Pennsylvania, Virginia, & North Carolina -- and those children ended up going primarily through Tennessee and then on to Kentucky, Missouri & Texas.

Additional note: Isabella (nee Bourland) Bacon's paternal grandmother was Rachel (nee Moore) Bourland of Ireland.

The known children of John Bourland & Catherine (Randolph) Bourland that includes Isabella, according to Ancestry.com / Wendy Harrison's Family Tree / Find-a-Grave contributors, were:

(1) Isabella (Bourland) Bacon (1761-1824)

*DEBATE: While both of Isabella Bourland Bacon's headstones (original and replacement) has it engraved Isabella was born in Pennsylvania, there are several entries on Ancestry.com with this Isabella with the same birth/death dates and marrying Michael Bacon but stating she was born in Virginia. If her parents did immigrate to Virginia the year she was born, this would make sense. Need to locate actual historical documents (not just entries on Ancestry.com) to contradict what is engraved on her headstones. -- It is also possible that Isabella was born as the ship bringing her parents from Ireland the year of her birth (1761) entered the American Colonies at Philadelphia (the largest port at the time for White immigrants) or shortly thereafter while still in the state of Pennsylvania, before her parents could reach their intended initial destination of Virginia where more children were born, before the family moved again (and had more children) to Salisbury District / Wilkes County, North Carolina before the Revolutionary War, and finally to Hawkins County in eastern Tennessee.

ISABELLA as an ADULT:

Isabella married a patriot of the American Revolution, as recognized by The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) when their third daughter's descendants applied, who served in 1778 as juror at Jonesboro, Hawkins County, Tennessee. (See his memorial for further details.)

Michael Bacon (1757-1804) & Isabella Bourland (1761-1824) were married in Hawkins County, TN in 1782. He was 25, born in TN. She was 21, born in PA. According to his Last Will & Testament (original handwritten document image & typed original transcript image attached) the couple had three daughters beginning the year after they wed, all while in Hawkins Co, TN, before widowed Isabella went on to St Francois Co, MO like her two younger daughters, and appears to have brought Michael for burial to end up herself next to him in Missouri:

(1) Mary "Polly" (Bacon) Lee b.1783 Hawkins Co, TN
m. Thomas Lee circa 1800
He was b. & d. in Hawkins Co (Will dated 13-July-1828; widowed Polly)
{not "Thomas Greenberry Lee", a separate older man b.VA d.TN (1751-1828)
Polly & Thomas' daughter's grave is in St Clair Cemetery there in Hawkins Co: Susan "Sally" (Lee) Chesnutt (1802-1856) memorial #72974439

(2) Sarah (Bacon) Murphy b.1785 Hawkins Co, TN
m. Dubart Murphy 1803
Together went from Hawkins Co, TN to St Francois Co, MO
(memorial links attached to this page)

(3) Catherine (Bacon) Taylor b.1788 Hawkins County, TN
m. George Taylor 1805
Together went from Hawkins Co, TN to St Francois Co, MO
(memorial links attached to this page)

{A different young woman called Rachel (Bacon) Murphy b.1775 also in Hawkins Co, TN & also died in Farmington, St Francois County, MO, was likely the daughter of one of Michael Bacon's *elder* brothers, and thus Rachel was likely his niece & cousin to his daughters Mary "Polly", Sarah & Catherine. Not Michael's daughter. Michael was only 13/14yrs old when Rachel was born. He married wife Isabella 7yrs after Rachel's birth, and had his first child Mary the year after that. -- Rachel (Bacon) Murphy was the first of two wives named Rachel with Rev David Murphy Sr (1770-1843). Her probable cousin (not sister), Sarah (Bacon) Murphy, happened to marry David's younger brother Dubart Murphy (1773-1836). So Rachel (Bacon) Murphy who married David in 1791 in TN then moved to MO & Sarah (Bacon) Murphy who married Dubart in 1803 in TN then moved to MO, were sisters-in-law, but not sisters-by-birth.}

In Michael's Will he also makes provision for he & Isabella's eldest daughter Mary (Bacon) Lee's son, Samuel Lee, and names sons-in-law Thomas Lee & Dubart Murphy as his Executors. Samuel died before his own father Thomas' 1828 Will, in which two other children are named "Sally" (Susan (Lee) Chesnutt) & "Tomaz" (Thomas Lee, Jr).

Michael Bacon made out his Last Will & Testament on the 6-August-1804 in the witness of Isaac Murphy, Michael Byrd & John Hale in his native Hawkins County, Tennessee. Isaac Murphy (1777-1821) was another of the Murphy brothers like Dubart & David. Michael Bacon died soon thereafter on 23-August-1804.

Michael Bacon was 46 or 47 when he died in 1804 in Hawkins County, Tennessee, perhaps en route or at the least as preparations were being made for the family to settle west in Farmington, St Francois County, Missouri. His widow Isabella (Bourland) Bacon didn't die until 1824 in Farmington. She was 63. Michael & Isabella are interred together in the Masonic Cemetery of Farmington South, St Francois County, Missouri. Two of their three daughters rest with their families nearby in Farmington. Eldest rests back in Hawkins County, Tennessee somewhere.
