Tahlequah, OK – Funeral services for Maude E. Allen, age 104, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tahlequah. A formal visitation will be held at the church prior to services from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM. Pastor Clint Collins, Pastor Rick Smith and Mr. Clay Smith Sr. will preside. Interment will be at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home.Maude E. Allen was born March 9, 1905, in Whitwell, TN, to Charles W. Ferguson and Sara (Kilgore) Ferguson. Maude was a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she had received her fifty-year pin, a member of the First Christian Church in Tahlequah, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at V.F.W. Post 3707, and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, where she also had received her fifty-year pin.Maude Allen departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in Tahlequah at the age of 104. Maude was preceded in death by her parents, husband Felix Allen in 1978, brothers and sisters, Ethel Nunn, Bethel Smith, Birthel Hopkins, Bessie Morton, Woodson Ferguson, Mammie Wilmon and Claude Ferguson.Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, including LaHoma Carter and husband Tom of Tahlequah.The family requests that those wishing to send an expression of sympathy consider making a donation in Maude's name to Carter Healthcare / Hospice, 200 W.
