Bob was a Union Pacific Yardmaster for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Hoyt Lodge # 327, AF & AM; Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies; Arab Shrine Temple; Hoyt Chapter # 189, OES; Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW; and a life member of North Post # 400 of the American Legion.
Bob was married to Betty (Miles) Taylor on July 20, 1968, in Topeka.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 daughters: Sandra Jones of Uniontown, MD, Shirley Hill of North Port, FL, and Susan Sanders of Peoria, IL; a son: Robert K. Holly, Jr.; a sister: Betty Johnson of Topeka; 7 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., Oct. 7, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, with Masonic Services conducted by Hoyt Lodge # 327, AF & AM. Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW, will conduct military honors at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Bob will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Arab Temple Travel Fund, 1305 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66612-1332.
