Irene W. Apps, 89, Normal, passed away at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 30, 2009) at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Normal.
She was born March 27, 1920, in Terril, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Elkins Newby. She married Edwin Richard Apps on Nov. 16, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo. He passed away July 5, 2009.
Surviving are three children, Jean (Wayne) Childers, Kappa and Janet (Robert) Briggs and Gerald (Deborah) Apps, both of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joyce Watkins and one great-great-grandson.
