Nellie was the daughter of Franklin Jefferson Moore & Emily Miller of Akron, Cowley County, Kansas. She married Philip Sheridan McMullen on 02 Apr 1899 at Winfield, Cowley County, Kansas.

Three children have been identified:

Lorin Chester McMullen
Cromwell Robert McMullen

Last Rites For Mrs. McMullen Held Here Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. P. S. McMullen were held at the Norwich Methodist Church, Friday afternoon, April 4 at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Charles E. Hall Jr., pastor of the church officiated, with the Rev. A. W. Lee, pastor of the Baptist Church assisting.

The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. C. A. Brewer, Mrs. Boyd Gosch, Paul and Max Farrar. Interment was in Eden cemetery at Norwich.

Mrs. McMullen had been in ill health for about three years. She suffered a recurring stroke Sunday, March 30, at her home here and was taken to the Blackwell General Hospital Sunday evening where she died, Wednesday evening, April 2.

Nellie Florence Moore McMullen, daughter of Franklin and Emily Moore, was born April 17, 1873 Park County, Indiana, and died on her 48th wedding anniversary April 2, 1947, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 15 days.

She moved with her parents from Indiana to Winfield, Kansas in 1878. On April 2, 1899 she was united in marriage with Phillip Sheridan McMullen at Winfield, Kansas. For the past 29 years they have resided in Norwich where Mr. McMullen was editor of the Norwich Herald until March of 1946.

Mrs. McMullen was active in community affairs, being a charter member of the Home Culture Club, a member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member and active worker in the Methodist Church.

Those who survive her include her husband, P. S. McMullen of Norwich; three sons, Phil of Blackwell, Okla., Lorin of Fort Worth, Texas and Robert of Long Beach, Calif; two grandsons, Phillip and Bill of Blackwell, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Wilkinson of South Haven, Mrs. I. F. Morton of Winfield, Mrs. W. H. Nunnemaker of Victoria, Texas, Mrs. Lounettie Schock of Oklahoma City, Okla; and two brothers, Edward E. Moore of Wellington and Riley Moore of Denver, Colo.
