Mrs. Susanna Glontz, well known resident of Coolsping, died at her home at 2:45 o`clock Monday morning following an illness of several weeks. She was aged 87 years and one month.
The deceased was born near Worthville Wednesday, April 27, 1843, a daughter of Jacob and Katherine Bloom Reitz. She was a devout Christian and had been a member of the United Evangelical church for 73 years.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Glontz, a veteran of the Civil War. After their marriage they resided on a farm near Worthville, from which place they moved to Coolspring 25 years ago and where Mr. Glontz died 23 years ago.
She was the mother of 12 children, eight of whom survive. They are: Jacob, of Brookville; Maurice, of Cleveland, O.; Albert, of Akron; R.C., of Coolsping; Mrs. Amanda Geist, of Knoxdale; Mrs. W. C. Breakey, of Coolsping; Mrs. T. E. Smathers and Mrs. G. W. Weaver, of Punxsutawney.
Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at 2 o`clock, and interment made in Worthville cemetery.
