Magline “Maggie” George, of Cherokee, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 89. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Chuck Bradford and Bro. David Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Maggie was a sweet lady and was loved by all that knew her, as some have said, “To know her was to love her”. She loved the Lord, her family, and her church family at Harris Chapel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John George; son, Glen George; granddaughter, Trina Cole; son-in-law, Harold Cole; parents, Louis and Lilly Mae Wallace; brothers, Arthur, Sonny, Frank, Fred, and Bud Wallace; sisters, Mary Bolden, Hattie Joe Wallace, and Louise Blackwell.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Cole; brother, Jack Wallace; sister, Molly Velmer Malone; three grandchildren, Cindy O’Toole and husband Shawn, Paul George, and Valarie George; four great-grandchildren, Shaeleigh Cole, Derek Duranczyk, Alexis Duranczyk, and Preston O’Toole ; and one great-great-grandchild, Alexis Crandall .
Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Cody Smith, Curtis Wallace, Channin Goss, Wes Stovall, and Shawn O’Toole. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Wallace, Anthony Posey, Daniel Thorn, Michael Crandall, and David Patrick.
