BAXTER -- James K. Owen, age 46, of Baxter, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Jim was born in Brainerd Nov. 30, 1957, to Donald and Norma (Arneson) Owen. He attended Brainerd schools, graduating from high school in 1976. He married Laurie Henrickson in Brainerd in 1983. He had been employed by the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper, Minnesota Stihl, and was currently employed by Russell and Herder Advertising of Brainerd.

Survivors include his wife Laurie; son Christopher and twin children Heather and Michael; his mother, Norma LaFond of Brainerd; five brothers, Bob (Karen J.) Owen, Bill (Pat) Owen, John Owen, Tom (Karen L.) Owen, and Tim Owen, all of Brainerd.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Owen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor David Holte officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and the hour before services Thursday at the church.
