John Jay Pardee, 82 years old, 1009 Kensington avenue, died at his home Tuesday. Born at Wadsworth, O., in 1843, he came to New York state after teaching under the direction of former President James A. Garfield and studied banking in New York city. He served as an accountant in the state comptroller’s office through three administrations, including that of Governor Nathan Miller.
Mr. Pardee is survived by a brother, Julius E. Pardee of California, and five children, Mrs. Lloyd Crosse, Albert C. Pardee and Edward Pardee of this city, Mrs. J. P. Washington" (Mabel Eloise, Mrs. J. T. Washington, Jr.) "of Dunkirk and a daughter" (son, Rev. John J. Pardee, Jr.) "in Campbell Cal.
The funeral will be from the family residence Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Benjamin S. Ferrall of the Christian church will officiate."
