Jasper Christman McPherson, 81, passed away Sunday, October 5, in Tallahassee. The service will be 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, October 9 at Beggs Funeral Home (850-942-2929), with burial at the Southside Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to: Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee FL 32308. A native of Bellwood, Fla., he resided in Tallahassee for over 30 years. Jasper worked for the State of Florida for 41 years, retiring as Lt. Colonel for the Dept. of Transportation. He was a two term sheriff for Okeecho-bee Co., a member of the Florida Sheriffs Association and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Iris Conrad McPherson; a sister, Marion Taylor of Tallahassee; and a grandson, Shane McPherson of Tallahassee. He was preceded in death by a son, Miles C. McPherson.
