Daughter of William & Margaret (McDowell) Nast

Franzeska Wilhelmina (Fanny) Nast was the youngest of the Nast children, born in 1848. Her parents were William and Margaret McDoweel Nast. William was the founder of German Methodism in America. Fanny was the first female graduate of German Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, in 1866. In 1872 she married William Gamble whose father was one of the founders of Procter and Gamble. They didn't have any children. After William died in 1897, Fanny became active in the Methodist Church and other philanthropic endeavors. She died March 19, 1914 and is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery.
