Theresa Jane Erickson, age 94, of Moorhead, MN, fell asleep and woke up in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Eventide Lutheran Home.

Theresa Jane Berland was born March 17, 1918, at Lake Park, MN, the daughter of Gotfred and Bertha Skari Berland. She grew up in Lake Park and attended District 17 School. She began working as a young girl living away from home working as housekeeper for various families in the Lake Park region.

As a young mother, she worked at a variety of positions from candling chicken eggs, sewing draperies for JC Penney's in Fargo and clothes at Arctic Cat, but the job she took the most pride in was rolling lefse at Carl's Lefse Plant in Lake Park and Hawley.

Theresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She had a tremendous sense of humor and never ceased to amaze everyone with her wittiness. Her family was her treasure. She was happiest when all of her family could gather together and enjoy her delicious meals. Her lemon meringue pies were her blue ribbon dessert. She cooked many early morning breakfasts for the avid family and friends deer hunters who gathered at their farm home before departing for the days hunt. She prepared the best deer roast ever!

She was blessed with a God-given musical talent and loved to play the piano, banjo and guitar. She loved to sing and could harmonize with anyone. Her favorite song, often sung with her sister, Idean, was "Count Your Blessings." Theresa also loved working outdoors in her flower and vegetable gardens and canning the fruits of her labor. She was always there to help those in their time of need and served Eskjo Lutheran Church in many ways. Blessed be the memory of Theresa Jane Erickson.

She is survived by two sons, Brad (Helen) Nelson and Wayne (Judy) Nelson; daughter, Susan Little; brother, Ernie (Sally) Berland; sister, Jeanette Schell; seven grandchildren: Troy Jessica Nelson, Tammy Reynolds, Julie Nelson, Travis Nelson, Katie Travis Davis, Adam Little, and Daniel Little; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Gotfred Nelson, Edwin Erickson, and Donald Erickson; daughter, Jane Nelson; brothers, Burnett, Duane, Eugene, and Leo Berland; sisters, Lorraine Wamre and Idean Abrahamson, and great-grandchild, Grace Brown.

Visitation: One hour before the service.

Funeral: Monday, December 31, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
