CHARLES HERMAN KOPPISCH

Charles Herman Koppisch was born at Milldebury, Maine, June 8, 1874 and passed away at his home May 11, 1943 at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Early in life he came to Kansas with his parents and lived at Newton, Kansas for a time later moving to Kingman where he was united in marriage to Lydia Gentzler on July 20, 1904. To this union five daughters and one son were born.

Mr. Koppisch with his family moved to Ingalls in 1919 where they have lived since that time.

He accepted the Christian life and was baptised at the Gray Center Church in the spring of 1925.

He was a loving father, deeply interested in the welfare of his children. He was a fine friend, and neighbor. He was an active participant in community affairs and could truly be called a good soldier on the home front.

Charles H. Koppisch and Isaiac J. Miller were boyhood friends, and became brother-in-laws through marriage, they lived most of their lives as neighbors and both passed away of the same ailment within a couple of weeks of each other.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Lydia; his children: Naomi Meline of Hurdand [sic], Mo.; Myrtle of the home; Lydia Graham of Liberal, Kansas; Ethel at home; Opal Truitt of Hutchinson, Kansas; Irvin in the armed forces at San Antonio, Texas; one sister Mrs. Tom Miller of Kingman, Kansas; eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held May 14th at the Community Methodist Church. Several selections were sung by Mr. Graham, Rev. Howard, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Blakeman, accompanied by Mrs. Drussel.
