Son of Arsenio and Maria Giovanna "Fina" Pernetti. Husband of Tommasina "Ciccarelli" Pernetti. Born in Salerno, Campania, Italy, he arrived in New York in 1880. He married Tommasina Ciccarelli on September 21, 1887 in Manhattan, New York. The witnesses to their wedding were Donato Fina and Michele Auleta. They started their family business in Manhattan, New York. They moved to Los Angeles, California around 1912. They had a large family, who they raised there.
Biagio Pernetti was the owner and president of B. Pernetti High Quality Food Products, Co., Inc. He did business internationally, yet still maintained his New York and California business and real estate ventures. While living in New York, he purchased several large apartment buildings, who he often allowed family members stay, when they arrived to the states from Italy. He owned a bank at 26 Mulbery Street in Manhattan, a real estate company and also owned a store at 78 Mulberry along with his father, which sold many of his patented products. He also patented candied citrus fruits and many liquor products. He later moved his store to 2206 2nd Avenue in New York, New York.
He owned a cannery in LA, CA, as he had a patent for canning tomatoe paste, and how to can it. When he moved to LA, CA, he eventually opened up a large cannery there.
