William Woolworth died Saturday in Adams. He was shoveling the walk in front of his home, when he suddenly fell to the ground a corpse. Death was caused by the action of the extreme cold upon the heart and blood. Mr. Woolworth was born in Denmark, this county, May 18, 1888, a son of Thaddeus Woolworth and the last surviving member of a family of eight children.

Deacon William Woolworth, whose funeral took place at Adams, was an uncle of Smith T. Woolworth of this city. He was born in Lewis county, May 18, 181. His father, Thaddeus Woolworth, and grandfather, Phineas Woolworth were born in Suffield, Mass. His grandfather settled near Copenhagen, Lewis county in 1802 or 1804. The deceased was the last survivor of a family of eight children. In his early youth, in the town of Rutland, he was soundly converted under the preaching of Rev. Ingersoll, the father of Robert G. Ingersoll.
