Freddie R. Zugschwert, 81, of 1844 County Rd. 146 North, Brainerd, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village.
He was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Pequot Lakes, to John and Clara (Johnson) Zugschwert. He was employed by Marv Koep. He was a turtle broker for the Nisswa Turtle Races for 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Liz; two sons, Marvin and Albert Zugschwert, both of Brainerd; six daughters, Phyllis Gallagher, Brainerd, Marie Zugschwert, Minneapolis, Margaret Hall, Bertram, Mildred DeBord, Backus, and Helen Zugschwert and Delores Mose, both of Brainerd; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Zugschwert, Brainerd; and two sisters, Viola Corey and Betty Endberg, both of Brainerd.
A brother, Kenneth, two sisters, Laura and Grace, and two great-grandchildren, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home with Lt. Paul Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home of Brainerd from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday.
