She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Surviving: son, Lee of Hurricane; daughters, Inez Erskine of Wyandotte, Michigan, Alice Beaver and Louise Beaver, both of Hurricane; 16 grandchildren: 26 great-grandchildren: eight great-great-grandchildren.
Service was held Saturday December 4, 1999 at Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Elder Willard Bird officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery, near Hurricane.
Alma married James Everett Bird on October 7, 1927 in St. Albans, WV.
They were both 21 years old.
